Following a citizen's report, the Traffic Police Department stopped the Binh Phuoc-registered ambulance on National Highway 37 on the evening of 27/7.
The driver could not produce a driver's license, and the vehicle's safety and environmental inspection certificate had expired less than a month prior. While the ambulance had a permit to use emergency sirens, this permit was no longer valid.
In addition to impounding the vehicle and documenting the incident, the Thai Nguyen Provincial Police's Traffic Police Department is investigating the operating conditions of the privileged vehicle for further action.
To facilitate public reporting of traffic violations, the Traffic Police Department has publicized the phone numbers of the Director and the heads of Traffic Police Departments in 34 provinces and cities.
