Vietnam Airlines plane diverts for passenger medical emergency

Vietnam Airlines flight VN31 from TP HCM to Frankfurt returned to Tan Son Nhat airport to provide medical assistance for a passenger with health issues.

On the night of 25/1, approximately 37 minutes after takeoff, a female Spanish passenger on flight VN31 began experiencing seizures and vomiting blood. The flight crew announced a call for medical assistance. Two passengers, both doctors, provided initial first aid and recommended the plane return to ensure the passenger's safety.

After assessing the passenger's condition, the captain decided to return to Tan Son Nhat airport. The captain coordinated with the operations center and ground units to prepare for medical support.

The flight to Frankfurt later departed, delayed by approximately 2 hours 55 minutes. This delay potentially affected some passengers' connecting flights. However, passengers on board expressed agreement, prioritizing the life and health of the distressed individual.
