Two people die in front of Phu Gia tunnel entrance

A man and woman died instantly in the early hours of 22/3 after their motorbike, traveling at high speed, crashed into the railing of the Phu Gia tunnel in Chan May - Lang Co commune.

Around 4:50 AM, Nguyen Van Thuan, 21, from Thanh Thuy ward, was driving a motorbike carrying Tran Thi Ngoc Han, 14, from Phu Ho commune, on National Highway 1, heading from Hue to Da Nang. The forceful impact killed Nguyen Van Thuan instantly. He was trapped on the motorbike, which lay next to the concrete pedestrian path. The girl riding with him was thrown 3 meters from the motorbike, lying motionless on the road near the tunnel entrance.

The motorbike's front was severely damaged, with debris scattered on the road near the railing. At the time of the accident, the road was clear, but visibility was limited due to early morning fog.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
