For the first time, the navies of the two nations conducted a live-fire anti-piracy drill using light weapons. The simulated scenario involved the joint patrol force escorting maritime traffic and ensuring security in international waters when they received reports of a pirate ship's appearance. The force issued warning signals, but the pirates persisted in attacking the escort vessel. Commanders from both squadrons then directed their teams to approach and neutralize the target.
