The campaign, running from 13/8 to 16/10, aims to mobilize resources to provide medical supplies, essential goods, and support for sustainable development activities, helping the Cuban people overcome difficulties caused by disease, natural disasters, and the embargo.
According to the VNRC, the campaign represents a humanitarian gesture, reflecting the close bond and solidarity between the Vietnamese and Cuban people. It also expresses gratitude for Cuba's support for Vietnam during its own times of hardship.
Individuals and organizations can contribute through various channels: donations from staff, members, and workers at agencies, organizations, schools, and residential communities; soliciting contributions from domestic and international businesses and organizations. Donations can be made directly at VNRC offices, via QR code transfers, public donation boxes, mobile applications, or through the VNRC website.
Schools will also organize activities such as letter-writing campaigns and small fundraising projects for Cuban children. The VNRC affirms that all contributions will be managed transparently and delivered to the Cuban people in 2025.

Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on 2/12/1960, with Cuba being the first nation in the Western Hemisphere to formally establish relations with Vietnam. Over the past 65 years, the two nations have stood shoulder to shoulder, from the years of struggle for independence and national reunification to the cause of building and defending their socialist nations.
This special relationship is nurtured on the foundation of solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, and mutual trust between the parties, states, and people of both countries. This serves not only as a source of moral support but also as practical assistance for the revolutionary cause in each nation.
One of the milestones in the bilateral relationship was the visit of late Cuban leader Fidel Castro to the liberated zone of Quang Tri in mid-September 1973. At Hill 241, amidst the smoke of bombs, he declared, "For Vietnam, Cuba is willing to shed its own blood." His words became a source of inspiration for the Vietnamese army and people at that time.
To commemorate 65 years of diplomatic relations, leaders of both countries have agreed to designate 2025 as the "Year of Vietnam-Cuba Friendship" – expressing their desire to elevate the bilateral relationship to new heights, towards more comprehensive, substantive, effective, and sustainable cooperation in the future.
