Affected by the northern edge of a tropical convergence zone passing through central Vietnam, many areas in the north experienced rain last night and this morning. Thai Ninh (Hung Yen) recorded 151 mm of rainfall between 7 p.m. yesterday and 8 a.m. today.
The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting predicts 10-30 mm of rain in the northern delta this afternoon and tonight, with some areas potentially receiving over 60 mm. Starting Monday (September 1), influenced by upper-level wind convergence, the northern delta and coastal areas will experience rain in the evenings and early mornings.
Hanoi, the site of the 80th anniversary celebrations of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2, is forecast to have occasional rain tonight and tomorrow morning. Clouds will decrease by midday and afternoon, bringing sunshine.
Hanoi is expected to be cloudy on the night of September 1, with intermittent light rain possible between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m. on September 2. The rain will stop after 5 a.m., and light sunshine will appear between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m.

Accuweather forecasts temperatures in Hanoi to range between 25 and 31 degrees Celsius from now until September 2, rising to 33-34 degrees in the following days.
Central provinces from Thanh Hoa to Hue will be affected by adverse weather conditions, with showers and thunderstorms expected throughout next week. Specifically on September 2, scattered showers and thunderstorms are anticipated. These showers may occur suddenly throughout the day, with high temperatures ranging from 30 to 33 degrees Celsius and lows from 24 to 27 degrees.
The south-central coast, central highlands, and southern Vietnam, located on the southern edge of the tropical convergence zone, will experience scattered showers and thunderstorms, increasing towards the evening.
The central highlands and southern regions will be influenced by moderate southwest monsoons for the first two days, leading to evening rain, heavy in some areas. During thunderstorms, there is a risk of tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind.
Nights and mornings in the south will be cool, with temperatures below 27 degrees Celsius. Highs will reach 31-34 degrees on the south-central coast, 26-29 degrees in the central highlands, and 29-32 degrees in the south.
On September 2, Vietnam will hold a celebration and parade for the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day at Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi. The parade will include ground troops, mechanized forces, air and naval units. Nearly 16,000 people will participate in 43 marching blocks, 18 stationary blocks, and 14 blocks of military and special forces vehicles.
