Ward official reprimanded for knocking over delivery driver's motorbike

A ward official in Ho Chi Minh City has been reprimanded for pushing over a delivery driver's motorbike.

A video showing a woman knocking over a delivery driver's motorbike went viral on 29/7, drawing criticism online. Huynh Van Son, Party Committee Secretary of Binh Hoa Ward, confirmed the incident and identified the woman as H.T.T.T., an official working at the ward's Party Committee office.

The incident took place in an alley on Lai Thieu 59 Street, formerly part of Binh Duong Province. The video shows a black car struggling to reverse in the narrow alley due to rain, construction materials, and a parked motorbike.

Although the car manages to reverse, a woman emerges from the vehicle and pushes the motorbike over. A delivery driver then runs out of a nearby house and confronts the woman.

According to Mr. Son, Ms. T. explained that she had rolled down her window and repeatedly asked the driver to move the motorbike, but received no response. She admitted to acting out of anger. Both parties went to the police station to resolve the matter.

At the police station, Ms. T. apologized to the delivery driver, who also acknowledged some responsibility. The two parties reconciled, and no further action was taken. However, the ward's Standing Party Committee reprimanded Ms. T. for her inappropriate behavior. Mr. Son added that the ward has reminded all officials to maintain a courteous demeanor, both on duty and in their daily lives, to uphold the image of public servants.
