Woman dies after turning into bus rapid transit lane

A woman was fatally struck by a bus on the morning of 18/7 after turning into the dedicated bus rapid transit (BRT) lane on Le Van Luong Street.

A 66-year-old woman from Hanoi, riding a motorbike on Le Van Luong Street towards Lang Ha, died on the spot after being hit by a bus. The incident occurred around 9:35 AM near the intersection of Le Van Luong and Le Van Thiem in Thanh Xuan ward. She reportedly turned into the BRT lane just as a bus approached, resulting in the collision. Traffic in the area experienced congestion.

According to regulations, private vehicles are prohibited from entering the dedicated BRT lanes. Violators face fines: 4-6 million VND for oto and 400,000-600,000 VND for motorbikes.

On the same morning, another accident involving a motorbike and an oto on Vinh Tuy Bridge also resulted in the death of a woman.
