A 40-year-old woman from Hung Phu ward was admitted to Can Tho Central General Hospital on the afternoon of 28/7. She was experiencing head pain and had a 1 cm wound on the occipital area (back of her head). Her family reported that she was "gardening" when the incident occurred, and they had not yet contacted the police.

Neurosurgeons operated for 45 minutes to remove the 0.5 x 0.3 cm bullet. It had penetrated the skin and slightly touched the occipital bone, but fortunately did not cause any brain damage. The patient is now conscious, responsive, and recovering well.
A leader of the Hung Phu ward Police Department stated that they had not received any report of the incident. The patient's family is urged to provide information to the police for investigation. The hospital leadership confirmed they will cooperate with authorities and provide medical records to clarify the incident.
