While filming in the front yard, he saw two girls, approximately 8 and 4 years old, wearing life jackets and playing in the pool, which had separate areas for children and adults. The girls' mother, the villa's housekeeper, was cleaning the front yard, letting her children play on their own.
Around 5 PM, the mother called her children to come out of the pool to rinse off with fresh water. The older girl came out, but the younger one was nowhere to be seen. The mother frantically jumped into the pool to search for her daughter.
Dat said that when he saw the mother calling for help in the middle of the pool, he immediately jumped in and brought her to safety. He then discovered the young girl lying motionless underwater, her body turning blue and no longer breathing.

Despite not having specialized training, Dat calmly performed CPR, a technique he had learned in school. After 30-40 seconds of continuous CPR, the girl started breathing again, vomiting water, and showing signs of responsiveness.
The girl was taken to Vung Tau Hospital. She regained consciousness, her health stabilized, and she was discharged after a day of observation. The doctors confirmed that the prompt first aid was the decisive factor in saving her life.
