The Bavarian derby at WWK Arena began with an incredible moment. Bayern kicked off and passed directly back to goalkeeper Manuel Neuer. The 40-year-old goalkeeper mishandled the ball, then attempted to chip it over the onrushing Robin Fellhauer but instead kicked it directly at the opponent. The Augsburg player immediately advanced towards the empty net, scoring when the match had only just passed about 8 seconds.
The Bundesliga confirmed this was the fastest goal in the league's history, surpassing the 9-second mark jointly held by Karim Bellarabi and Kevin Volland. The error on his very first touch made Neuer an unwitting participant in a German football record.

According to Bild, the ball crossed the goal line after 8,4 seconds. Bayern's three most recent goals conceded in the first minute of a Bundesliga match have all come against Augsburg. The two previous instances occurred in February and October 2019, from an own goal by Leon Goretzka and a goal by Marco Richter.
Bayern avoided defeat thanks to two assists from Harry Kane for Ismael Saibari and Nathaniel Brown. However, they experienced an afternoon of interrupted joy due to offside calls, in addition to opportunities denied by the crossbar, post, and goalkeeper Finn Dahmen.
After the early goal, the visiting team pushed forward but found it difficult to penetrate the home side's defense. Michael Olise tested with his characteristic long-range shot, while Kane's header from a corner kick was inaccurate. Augsburg responded with counter-attacks, driven by the energetic Arijon Ibrahimovic.
The clearest chance before halftime fell to Kane. From Aleksandar Pavlovic's pass, the English forward shot from very close range but the ball hit the crossbar. Bayern went into halftime trailing, despite continuously trying to increase the pressure.
Early in the second half, Luis Diaz volleyed into Dahmen's net from Saibari's cross. However, VAR determined Josip Stanisic was offside in the preceding play and disallowed the goal. It wasn't until the 55th minute that Bayern legitimately equalized. Joshua Kimmich chipped the ball to Kane, and the English forward controlled it then passed for Saibari to neatly finish and score.

Just 10 minutes later, Augsburg took the lead again. Calvin Brackelmann shot with his left foot, Neuer saved it but parried the ball directly in front of goal. Rodrigo Ribeiro was quicker than the Bayern defense, slotting in the rebound to make it 2-1.
Vincent Kompany brought on Gnabry and Brown to find an equalizer. Bayern again put the ball in the net from a Gnabry shot, but Kane was offside when he received the preceding pass. Another situation that ended with the ball in Augsburg's net was also disallowed because Alphonso Davies started his run too early.
Kane did not score but continued to make a difference in the 80th minute. He delivered a well-placed left-footed pass for Brown to tap in from close range, bringing the match back to level terms for the second time.
Bayern still had a chance to complete the comeback when Diaz found Gnabry in the penalty area, but the German forward's shot hit the woodwork. The final minutes remained tense, with the visiting team having another goal disallowed for offside.
The draw helps Bayern maintain their unbeaten record in the Bundesliga this season, but they could not defeat Augsburg to avenge their loss in January. At that time, their Bavarian rivals ended Bayern's 27-match unbeaten streak with a 2-1 victory at Allianz Arena.
Bayern still stands second with 11 points after five matches, two points behind league leaders Dortmund and three points ahead of Augsburg. Vincent Kompany's team missed the opportunity to take the top spot after Dortmund drew Bremen 2-2 in this round.
