After the nomination portal closed on 1/3, the program received over 350 applications from publishers, technology companies, the gaming community, and various organizations active in the game industry. Following an evaluation, the organizing committee selected over 250 nominees that met the criteria to advance to the preliminary round.

The preliminary round takes place from 10/3 to 31/3 on the program's official website. During this stage, results are determined by 50% of votes from VnExpress readers and 50% from the expert council's evaluation. After this round, three to five nominees with the highest scores in each category will qualify for the finals.
Each account is allowed one vote per category. To ensure transparency, the system will hide the vote count during the last three days of the preliminary round. Voting will continue as usual until the portal closes. Readers can cast their votes here.
Five awards—favorite game community, game character, network provider, payment channel, and beverage—will be decided 100% by reader votes.

In the finals, scheduled from 7/4 to 21/4, the final results will be based on 30% public votes and 70% expert council scores. The "favorite" awards will continue to be decided entirely by the community.
The Vietnam Game Awards aims to honor products, individuals, and organizations that have made significant contributions to Vietnam's game industry. The awards ceremony is part of the Vietnam GameVerse 2026, taking place on 8-9/5 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), TP HCM.
A new feature this year is the live hosting of professional esports tournaments: the Southeast Asian Nations esports Cup, FC Mobile Invitation Cup 2026, and the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Spring 2026 National Finals. The organizing committee has designed a dedicated space for fans to interact with and get autographs from players.
Under the theme "Do Local - Go Global", Vietnam GameVerse 2026 is expected to attract over 50,000 attendees. Leading up to the main event, the Game Talks seminar series will run from February to May, aiming to connect industry professionals and promote Vietnamese game brands internationally.
