24 hours on an island the size of half a football field, home to 1,800 residents

YouTuber Joe Hattab spent 24 hours on Migingo Island, which is considered to have the highest population density in the world, with 1,800 people living on an area of only about 2,000 m².

Digital journalist Mai Anh reports on a recent video by YouTuber Joe Hattab, who spent a day on Migingo Island. This small landmass, located in Lake Victoria, is an example of high population density.

Migingo Island, despite its small size—roughly equivalent to half a football field—hosts a community of 1,800 residents. The island's location near fishing grounds in Lake Victoria, at the border between Kenya and Uganda, has attracted fishermen and traders, leading to its population concentration.

Hattab's 24-hour immersion offered viewers a glimpse into the daily life and challenges faced by the island's inhabitants. His footage captures the infrastructure and activity packed into just 2,000 m², showcasing how a community thrives under these conditions.
