Iced milk coffee, black coffee, egg coffee, and lotus tea were included in the Top 100 Asian Beverages list, announced by the leading global food guide Taste Atlas on 23/9.

Iced milk coffee secured the 10th position overall and topped the list of four Vietnamese beverages, receiving a 4,2/5 rating. Taste Atlas describes Vietnamese iced milk coffee as a drink combining strong coffee, condensed milk, and ice. Traditionally, it is made with Vietnamese-grown Robusta beans, ground medium or coarse, then brewed with a phin (Vietnamese coffee filter) and served in a tall glass.

Regarding egg coffee, Taste Atlas notes its origin in the 1950s when Nguyen Van Giang invented it. His coffee shop in Hanoi has since been passed down through three generations. Lotus tea is considered an indispensable part of Vietnamese culture, enjoyed during festivals and other special occasions. The finest and most expensive variety of this tea originates from the West Lake area, Hanoi.

Topping the list is Mango lassi, one of India's most popular beverages, made from yogurt and fresh mangoes. This drink often includes cardamom, water, and sugar. The ingredients are blended until a smooth, slightly frothy mixture is formed. Mango lassi is always served chilled.

The "Top 100 Asian Beverages" list was compiled based on 12.173 reviews, of which 7.809 were deemed valid by the system from its community of users and food experts.

The ranking aims to promote local dishes and beverages, foster pride in traditional items, and spark curiosity about dishes readers have yet to try. The initial list was based on existing reviews, awards, local recommendations, information from newspapers and blogs, and consumer community feedback.
