This april offers two eagerly anticipated holidays for many Vietnamese: Hung Kings' Commemoration Day (25-27/4) and the april 30th Liberation Day holiday (30/4-3/5). These two holidays are separated by two days, creating a "holiday combo" that provides an opportunity for longer trips.
A survey published on 21/4 by online travel platform Booking.com revealed that 33% of Vietnamese tourists plan more short domestic trips in 2026 than the average number of holidays in 2025. Additionally, 22% of respondents are looking for longer international trips compared to last year.
Da Nang was the most searched domestic destination by tourists for the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day and april 30th holidays for two consecutive years, followed by familiar coastal spots like Nha Trang, Vung Tau, Phu Quoc, and Mui Ne. Notably, searches for Vung Tau and Phu Quoc saw the highest increase, up by 120% compared to the same period last year.
After merging with Quang Nam province, Da Nang city has a natural area of nearly 12,000 km2. It borders Hue city to the north, Quang Ngai province to the south, Laos to the west, and the East Sea to the east. The destination boasts two airports, Chu Lai and Da Nang, three major seaports: Tien Sa, Ky Ha, and Lien Chieu, over 200 km of coastline, and is home to the World Heritage sites of Hoi An and My Son Sanctuary.
These advantages, coupled with its title as "Vietnam's most livable city", have helped the destination become a top choice for many Vietnamese tourists.

Thanks to its cool highland advantage, Da Lat also made it into the top searches this year, becoming a suitable destination for those looking to "escape" the early summer heat. The demand for cultural destinations in Vietnam remains steady. Hue, Hoi An, and Ha Noi continue to be popular choices, reflecting a trend towards exploring history and traditional cities. In addition to domestic trips, the trend of Vietnamese tourists traveling within the Asia-Pacific region continues to dominate this holiday, with all 10 most searched international destinations located in the area. Thanks to a combination of convenience, reasonable costs, and novel experiences, destinations like Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Taipei continue to attract travelers during this holiday. Furthermore, this year's search trends among Vietnamese tourists also indicate an interest in culturally rich cities, with Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, and Seoul remaining top choices for longer holidays. Branavan Aruljothi, Booking.com's Country Manager for Vietnam, noted that the april holidays reflect a growing trend among tourists to plan their travel more strategically and thoughtfully. "Vietnamese travelers are actively seeking personalized journeys where destinations truly reflect the experiences they desire," Aruljothi said. Phuong Anh |
