On 13/4, a representative from the Lung Cu Commune People's Committee confirmed that the locality is implementing a project to pave inner-village roads in Lo Lo Chai and construct a wastewater drainage system. The initiative aims to transform the destination into a model for sustainable tourism development in the highlands.
The planned stone-paved route includes roads within Lo Lo Chai village, divided into two main sections: from the village cultural house to the T-junction of Lung Cu Ethnic Semi-Boarding Secondary School, and from the village gate to the T-junction of Lung Cu Primary School.
The chosen design incorporates patterns inspired by the traditional clothing of the Lo Lo people for the paved surface. Materials include Thanh Hoa green stone, combined with basalt stone and Sinh Lung stone, sourced from Sinh Lung commune. This combination ensures durability, ease of cleaning, and construction efficiency, while creating an aesthetic focal point that reflects the local cultural identity.
Two patterns are used in the inner-village road paving process.

The road paving project is scheduled to commence in june, with the wastewater drainage system construction beginning one month prior. Previously, village wastewater was discharged directly onto open land, leading to unpleasant odors in many areas and complaints from tourists. Consequently, the commune authorities consider this a crucial and necessary task that requires early implementation to ensure a pleasant experience for visitors during their stay.
The commune authorities stated that both projects will be completed before winter, the peak tourist season for Lo Lo Chai, to be ready for visitors.
"After the paving, I believe Lo Lo Chai's image will be more appealing, elevating the value of the world's best tourism village", said Linh Son, owner of Amazing Lo Lo Chai homestay.
Lo Lo Chai is one of two villages in Vietnam recognized by the World Tourism Organization (UN Tourism) as a "World's Best Tourism Village". From 2023 to 2025, the total number of households in Lo Lo Chai increased from 119 to 122. Homestay businesses grew from 29 to 63, and the percentage of households engaged in tourism rose from 26% to 52%. During major holidays throughout the year, Lo Lo Chai consistently experiences full bookings.
