According to the 10th Travel Predictions report, released on 8/4, Booking.com identifies 2026 as "The Era of you," where travelers shift from asking "where to go" to "what suits me." The list is compiled from search and booking data, alongside surveys of tens of thousands of travelers across various markets. Priority is given to destinations that combine unique natural beauty, authentic local experiences, and opportunities for discovery.
Branavan Aruljothi, Booking.com's country director for Vietnam, states that Mui Ne's inclusion on the list reflects the growing demand for personalized travel.
"As travel becomes a form of self-expression, Mui Ne offers a diverse ecosystem of experiences, allowing travelers to design itineraries according to their preferences," he said, noting it is a suitable destination for new travel trends.

Beyond international appeal, Mui Ne also ranks ninth among the top 10 most searched domestic destinations by Vietnamese travelers, an increase of one rank from the previous year.
The destination's appeal stems from its blend of adventure sports, unique landscapes like sand dunes, and premium beachfront resorts. Regarding accommodation, travelers increasingly choose apartments, guesthouses, and serviced apartments in addition to traditional hotels.
National Geographic magazine previously noted that Mui Ne has transformed from a fishing village into a leading Southeast Asian water sports hub. Its long beaches, consistent winds, and distinct terrain make it a favorite for kitesurfers and water sports enthusiasts.
This destination gained widespread recognition in 1995, when a total solar eclipse attracted thousands of tourists. Following this, Mui Ne rapidly developed with numerous coastal resorts.
Currently, the Mui Ne National Tourist Area features over 600 accommodation facilities with nearly 18,000 rooms, concentrated along its "golden strip" of coastline. The 8 km long Nguyen Dinh Chieu street alone hosts 53 resorts, creating one of the country's most vibrant resort areas.

Beyond its landscapes, Mui Ne also attracts visitors with local cultural experiences such as fishing villages, seafood markets, and the Van Thuy Tu relic site, which preserves thousands of whale skeletons across centuries.
In the 2026 rankings, Mui Ne is listed alongside international destinations such as Bilbao, Philadelphia, and Guangzhou. Its inclusion on the list highlights Vietnam's growing tourism appeal on the global map, especially as personalized travel experiences become increasingly popular.
Previously, Mui Ne ranked third in Google's Year in Search 2025 list for travel, among the top 10 most searched destinations, after Da Lat and An Giang.
With its unique landscapes, fishing village culture, and opportunities for adventure sports, Mui Ne is poised to lead the personalized, exploratory, and adventurous travel trends of 2026.
