Countries congratulate Vietnam's key leaders

Leaders from Laos, China, Cambodia, Cuba, Russia, and India sent telegrams, letters, and messages of congratulations after the Vietnamese National Assembly elected its key leaders.

The Vietnamese National Assembly on 7/4 elected General Secretary To Lam as President, Le Minh Hung as Prime Minister, and Tran Thanh Man as National Assembly Chairman. These elections mark a significant moment in Vietnam's leadership.

Following the elections, leaders from several countries extended their congratulations to Vietnam's newly appointed officials. These messages highlighted the importance of bilateral relations and expressed hopes for continued cooperation and development.

General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith of Laos congratulated President To Lam, stating that the election results demonstrate the high trust of Vietnam's Party, State, and people in his leadership, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Lao leader expressed readiness to work "shoulder to shoulder" with President To Lam to cultivate bilateral relations and contribute to maintaining peace, stability, and sustainable development cooperation regionally and globally.

General Secretary and President Xi Jinping of China emphasized that strengthening solidarity and cooperation aligns with the common interests of both Parties and countries amidst the current rapidly evolving global and regional landscape. He expressed readiness to maintain strategic exchanges with President To Lam, guiding the advancement of a China-Vietnam Community of Shared Future.

King Norodom Sihamoni and President of the Cambodian Senate Hun Sen expressed confidence that under President To Lam's leadership, bilateral relations would continue to strengthen and reach new heights.

Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that the National Assembly's decision once again demonstrates President To Lam's high political prestige and broad support for Vietnam's socio-economic development policies, as well as its protection of national interests on the international stage. President Putin expressed confidence that President To Lam's assumption of the presidency would further strengthen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Russia and Vietnam.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed confidence that under President To Lam's leadership, the friendship between the two countries would continue to grow stronger. He also wished to cooperate closely to further deepen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two nations.

Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone, Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang, and Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet sent congratulatory messages to Prime Minister Le Minh Hung. These leaders affirmed their readiness to cooperate with the Prime Minister to strengthen bilateral relations and expressed confidence that Vietnam would continue to achieve important socio-economic development milestones, enhancing its role and standing regionally and globally.

In his congratulatory message to National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, President of the Cuban National Assembly Esteban Lazo Hernandez expressed confidence that both sides would continue to strengthen the long-standing relationship between their respective National Assemblies.
