In an interview published on 15/2, Polish President Karol Nawrocki affirmed strong support for the country's participation in a "nuclear project", arguing that Warsaw should develop a security strategy based on nuclear capabilities.
"This is the path we should take, considering all international regulations. We must strive towards this goal to act. Poland is a nation located directly on the border of armed conflict. Russia's aggressive stance towards Poland is clear", he stated.

When questioned about Moscow's reaction to Warsaw potentially developing nuclear weapons, President Nawrocki responded, "Russia can react strongly to anything."
Russian officials have not commented on the information.
Nawrocki's statement emerges as European nations debate developing their own nuclear strategies, amidst deteriorating relations with the US. At the Munich Security Conference in Germany last week, Latvian Prime Minister Evika Silina asserted that "nuclear deterrence could offer new opportunities."
Germany and France have also begun discussions on developing a European nuclear deterrent, capable of protecting the continent without US assistance.
