BYD has unveiled the Ti7, its newest high-riding vehicle. This marks BYD's first 7-seater SUV to be sold in international markets. The Chinese automaker aims for the global market, positioning the Ti7 to compete with rivals such as the Toyota Land Cruiser and the Land Rover Defender.
The Ti7 first launched in Thailand in 2025 under the Fang Chen Bao brand. BYD has confirmed the product will be sold in the UK under the BYD brand. In its domestic market, the BYD Ti7 is also known as the Fang Chen Bao Ti7 (Tai 7 or Titanium 7).

Like the Defender, the Ti7 features a unibody chassis, departing from the body-on-frame design of the Land Cruiser. The Ti7 measures 5,146 mm long, 1,995 mm wide, and 1,865 mm high, with a wheelbase of 2,920 mm. These specifications indicate that the Chinese model is longer and narrower than the Defender 110.
Upon its UK launch, the Ti7 will be the Chinese brand's first model to utilize the DM-p (PHEV) powertrain. This system combines a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine, two electric motors, and a 35.6 kWh LFP battery. The total output is expected to exceed 600 hp. According to official announcements, the Ti7 accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 4.8 seconds and offers an all-electric range of 127 km.
In its domestic market, Fang Chen Bao offers a pure electric version of the Ti7. This model comes with two powertrain options: a rear-wheel drive variant producing 402 hp, and an all-wheel drive version with two electric motors delivering a combined 691 hp. Battery options include 92 kWh or 105.7 kWh packs.

The Ti7's exterior features a boxy, masculine design. The prominent grille stands out with its segmented LED light strip, complemented by small air intakes and a distinctive black front bumper. It also includes angular wheel arches, large door handles, a panoramic sunroof, and a spare wheel mounted on the rear tailgate.
The interior design of the Ti7 inherits BYD's signature style, featuring a large infotainment touchscreen, a digital instrument cluster, and a 4-spoke steering wheel. Premium materials are used throughout the cabin, aiming to provide a luxurious experience for all seven occupants, according to BYD.
BYD plans to release the Ti7 in the UK market in late 2026. The Chinese automaker positions it to compete directly with the Land Rover Defender.
