A video of the incident quickly went viral on social media, prompting widespread calls for action. Over 17,700 comments tagged Delhi Police, Gurugram Police, Gurugram Traffic Police, and Haryana State Police, demanding authorities take strict action against the driver.
"I don't know what else to say, but today I feel unsafe on Gurugram's streets. Individuals like this don't hesitate to hit someone and flee," the biker stated after the car hit her and sped off. The powerful impact threw her from her motorcycle, which dragged for several meters on the road.
The biker, identified as Sia, stated the incident occurred on 13/9. She was riding her Aprilia RS 457 sport motorcycle with friends on Golf Course Road in Gurugram.
Sia stated in the video that the car's occupants intentionally pursued her group from the start. The vehicle approached them closely, and the individuals inside began acting aggressively. She asked them to keep their distance, but they shouted at her to stop. Sia observed that the men in the car appeared to have consumed alcohol.
Sia continued to move, trying to avoid being cornered. A friend riding behind her attempted to ride parallel, shielding her and preventing the car from closing in.
The car, however, continued its pursuit. The driver then intentionally cut off Sia's motorcycle, causing the collision, and accelerated away. Sia's motorcycle dashcam recorded the entire incident.
Sia added that after the collision, a friend pursued the car. When the car stopped at a red light, the friend confronted the driver, clearly stating the driver's fault. The driver, however, denied responsibility and sped away.
In the video, Sia appealed to Gurugram Police to take action against drivers who endanger road users and flee. She also publicly shared the car's license plate number and the registered owner's name. The resolution of the incident remains unclear.
