The world's narrowest car seats just one person

A 1993 Fiat Panda, trimmed to less than 50 cm wide, achieves a speed of 15 km/h and a world record.

Andrea Marazzi, 30, from Italy, is the creator of this custom build. He began transforming a 1993 car, sourced from a scrapyard 12 months ago, with a goal: to create the world's narrowest automobile.

Marazzi shared that the initial idea was merely "an impromptu joke at the scrapyard," but it later evolved into a mission to create "a product no one had ever made."

Despite its interior space accommodating only one person, this Panda remains road-legal, officially earning the title of the world's narrowest car. Guinness World Records recognized Marazzi's achievement in Bagnolo Cremasco, Italy, last week.

This custom-cut vehicle features a modified body, 4 wheels, one headlight, and one seat. Despite its drastically reduced size, the car retains over 90% of its original components. Marazzi affectionately nicknamed it "Flat Fiat". The vehicle weighs approximately 264 kg and can reach a speed of 15 km/h. Marazzi often drives it through Italy's narrow streets.

"I chose the Panda because it's famous worldwide. People have made Pandas with bathtubs or wooden Pandas, but no one has made a car this thin," Marazzi stated.

Marazzi's product has garnered praise, demonstrating that clever engineering combined with recycled parts can still produce a functional automobile. Many commented that the car is "a work of art," while others remarked: "Great idea, but above all, excellent craftsmanship."
