According to the Traffic Police Department, around 18:11 on 18/4, a 5-year-old boy playing near Provincial Road 908 accidentally kicked his soccer ball into the road. At that moment, a 50-year-old man, driving a motorbike quickly, struck the ball, lost control, and crashed.
Despite being rushed to emergency care, the man succumbed to his severe injuries the following morning.
This tragic incident highlights the dangers of children playing near roads. Allowing children to play, especially with items that can easily roll or move such as balls, strollers, or kites, in close proximity to traffic is dangerous. A moment of inattention can lead to unpredictable situations caused by active children, leaving road users no time to react. Therefore, parents must never allow children to play in the road or near its edge.
Additionally, road users should always observe their surroundings and reduce speed when driving through residential areas. In unexpected situations, motorcyclists should combine both front and rear brakes, gradually increasing force to avoid wheel lock-up. Prioritize applying the rear brake before using the front. Always maintain a safe distance and keep the vehicle straight during emergency braking.
Crucially, in the event of an accident, preserve the scene, administer first aid to the injured, and immediately report to the nearest police agency for assistance and resolution according to regulations.
