On 23/3, a road near a residential area in Kaifeng, Henan province, became congested. Already narrow, the addition of nearby construction barriers exacerbated the situation when a broken white sedan blocked the middle of the road. Despite persistent honking, the vehicle remained stationary.
Unable to wait, a driver from a vehicle behind exited and approached the sedan, hoping to persuade the driver to move and clear the obstruction. However, a brief exchange quickly escalated into an argument.
During the argument, the SUV driver observed the sedan driver becoming agitated. To avoid escalating the situation, he returned to his vehicle, intending to drive around. However, the sedan driver suddenly rushed forward, standing with arms outstretched to block the road, and shouted, "If you don't hit me, I'll hit you."
Witnesses suggested the man appeared intoxicated, completely uncontrolled, and spoke incoherently. Before the SUV driver could react, the man stepped back a few paces, then suddenly lunged forward, head-butting the SUV with a loud impact.
After repeated impacts, the man's head began to bleed, yet he continued. Bystanders promptly contacted police and emergency services.
Police arrived and attempted to de-escalate the situation, urging the man to cooperate. He remained unyielding, however, becoming enraged, yelling, and provoking officers.
Medical personnel later determined his head injury was severe, requiring immediate hospitalization. Despite this, the man resisted, necessitating efforts from both police and medics to get him into an ambulance. The incident is currently under investigation.
