Highlights of the Jaecoo J5 set to launch in Vietnam

The Chinese automaker announced sales of nearly 10,600 vehicles in Indonesia during the first four months of 2026, while expanding into the markets of Thailand and Australia.

A representative from Omoda & Jaecoo Vietnam stated that the J5 is an SUV that has achieved high sales in international markets due to a combination of factors, including its design, performance, safety technology, and running costs.

This SUV offers three powertrain options: gasoline, hybrid (SHS-H), and pure electric. All variants share a common chassis platform and multi-link rear suspension system. The J5 Premium features a 1,5 turbo gasoline engine with 145 horsepower. The J5 SHS-H utilizes Super Hybrid System technology, delivering a total output of 221 horsepower and an estimated range of over 1.000 km on a full tank of fuel and a fully charged battery, according to the manufacturer's announcement.

The J5 BEV Flagship model is equipped with a 208 horsepower electric motor, accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 7,7 seconds and offering a range of 461 km on a single full charge (NEDC).

The vehicle is equipped with 18 advanced driver-assistance system features, a 540-degree camera, a 13,2-inch screen, a Sony sound system, and wireless charging. The company states that the car's interior materials are pet-friendly, featuring antibacterial silicone seats that resist stains and minimize odor retention. "The performance, technology, and user experience have contributed to the Jaecoo J5's positive reception among users in Indonesia, Thailand, and Australia," said a representative from Omoda & Jaecoo Vietnam.

In the Vietnamese market, Omoda & Jaecoo are accepting deposits for the Jaecoo J5 from now until 31/8, offering 4 versions: Premium, SHS-H Premium, SHS-H Flagship, and BEV Flagship. The company stated that the anticipated selling prices will not exceed 559 million, 629 million, and 699 million Vietnamese dong, respectively.

"Omoda & Jaecoo Vietnam guarantees that the official selling price will not be higher than the projected price. Should the announced price be exceeded, users will receive compensation five times the deposit value," a company representative confirmed. With a proven platform in international markets and multiple versions, the Jaecoo J5 is expected to continue to appeal to Vietnamese consumers.

In Vietnam, the company offers a warranty policy of 10 years or 1 million km for the engine on gasoline and SHS-H versions, and 8 years or 160.000 km for the high-voltage battery on the pure electric version.
