Honda ICON e: price drops to 15 million dong

In late may, the Japanese manufacturer offered a 5 million dong promotion for the ICON e:, bringing the scooter's price down to 15,5-15,9 million dong, its lowest since launch.

Following a retail price adjustment in early april, which set its price at 20,5-20,9 million dong (8% value added tax), Honda is offering a 5 million dong promotion for the ICON e: from 15/5 to 31/7.

With this promotion, the Honda ICON e: is now priced at 15,5-15,9 million dong. This marks a nearly 50% reduction from its initial launch price of 26,9-27,3 million dong.

A similar price point of around 15 million dong was seen for the Honda ICON e: in late 2025, but that was a combination of authorized dealership (HEAD) initiatives and manufacturer promotions. At its current price, Honda's electric scooter competes directly with models like the VinFast Flazz (16 million dong) and YadeaVekoo (15 million dong). However, the ICON e: price does not include the battery, a key difference from its two rivals which come with batteries.

The battery for the ICON e:, if purchased with the scooter, costs approximately 8,8 million dong. Sold separately, the battery price increases to 12,2 million dong. Additionally, battery rental is available for over 245,000 dong per month.

The ICON e: is currently one of two electric scooter models offered by Honda in Vietnam. The other is the CUV e:, priced at 44,2 million dong without a battery, or 63,8 million dong with one. The UC3 model's price has not been officially announced. However, some dealerships are already taking early deposits for the UC3, hinting at a price range of 58-60 million dong, with deliveries anticipated in late june.

The Honda ICON e: stands as the most affordable electric scooter from the Japanese brand in Vietnam. Assembled domestically, it is available in three versions: premium, special, and sport.

Despite its dominance in the gasoline scooter market, Honda trails competitors in the electric scooter segment. According to Nikkei Asia, Honda sold approximately 2,16 million units in Vietnam in 2025, capturing about 65% of the overall motorcycle market (including both gasoline and electric models). However, its share in the electric scooter market was only 1,4%, representing nearly 10,000 scooters.

Honda has announced plans to significantly expand its electric scooter business in Vietnam starting in 2026. The UC3 model is slated for domestic assembly from late 2026. Furthermore, early 2027 will see the launch of two new Honda models designed exclusively for the Vietnamese market. These upcoming products will target the popular segment, positioned below the ICON e:, currently the brand's most accessible electric scooter.

The Japanese manufacturer plans to roll out battery swap and charging stations at Honda's authorized dealerships (HEADs), beginning in major cities. This initiative will be complemented by a future plan to establish public charging stations through collaborations with third-party partners.
