Last week, Abel Motos, an authorized dealership network for the Brazilian motorcycle brand Avelloz, celebrated the grand opening of a new branch in Pedro II, Piaui, with a unique promotion. A brand new motorcycle was hung upside down at the entrance, inviting customers to a challenging stunt. The rules were simple: whoever could hang from the inverted motorcycle for 10 minutes would win the bike. A participant who managed to hold on for 8 minutes would receive 3,000 Brazilian real, approximately 600 USD.

In a video from the event, a young man attempts the challenge, clinging to the bike amidst cheers from onlookers. His arms strained as he tried to brace himself with his legs and knees. Despite his intense efforts, he lost his grip after approximately 1.5 minutes.
Such challenges are not uncommon in Brazil, as motorcycle dealerships frequently organize these activities during holidays, grand openings, or weekends to attract customers. Beyond the inverted motorcycle stunt, dealerships might host simpler competitions, such as pull-up challenges for a specified duration. However, these typically offer cash prizes rather than a new vehicle.

Despite the continuous presence of the inverted motorcycle challenge at dealerships, no one has yet managed to win a new motorcycle. The prizes awarded are usually cash. For example, in late May, Casa das Motos, another motorcycle dealership, awarded 2,000 Brazilian real (400 USD) to a man named Flavio for setting a record by hanging on the motorcycle for 1 hour 20 minutes.
