In some intersections in Hanoi, traffic authorities have marked lanes on the road for left-turning vehicles. This presents a dilemma for me: when I approach a red light, I am required to stop before the stop line. However, the designated left-turn waiting lane further ahead is often empty. My question is, am I permitted to cross the red light to advance and wait in that empty left-turn lane?
I would appreciate advice from anyone familiar with traffic laws.
