At a busy intersection, many motorcycles waited at a red light, positioned directly in front of two large trucks. As the traffic light turned green and vehicles began to move, a motorcycle carrying two riders veered left, while an adjacent truck angled right. The close distance resulted in the truck dragging the two motorcyclists underneath, leading to their deaths.
To ensure safety, motorcyclists should proactively maintain distance from large trucks, which have significant blind spots. Avoid stopping directly in front of a truck, alongside its blind spots, or between two large vehicles at intersections. When stopped, position yourself at least 2-3 meters from the truck's front to ensure the driver has an unobstructed view before accelerating.
Furthermore, trucks have large blind spots along their sides. Riders should avoid traveling parallel to large vehicles, particularly when navigating curves or turns. Trucks also require a significantly longer braking distance compared to cars and motorcycles. Therefore, cutting in front of a truck or making sudden lane changes in close proximity is extremely hazardous. When sharing the road with large trucks and container vehicles, it is crucial to yield and maintain a safe distance.
