The traffic incident involved two women riding an electric motorcycle at high speed and without helmets. They suddenly swerved into the oncoming lane to overtake one car. At that moment, a truck traveling in the opposite direction approached, resulting in a head-on collision with the electric motorcycle. The extent of injuries to those involved remains unknown. The incident occurred on DT445 road, through Tien Hung commune, on 25/4.
Driving analysis: In this situation, riding too close to the SUV in front obscured the motorcycle rider's view. Consequently, the sudden swerve into the oncoming lane left both the rider and the truck driver with no time to react.
Vehicle operators must always obey traffic laws, which include wearing helmets, avoiding speeding and reckless overtaking, and always staying in the correct lane. According to Decree 168 on road traffic penalties, improper motorcycle overtaking that causes a traffic accident carries a fine of VND 10-14 million and a deduction of 10 points from the driver's license.
