In response to competitors in the B-segment CUV market racing with promotions to stimulate demand, Omoda, a Chinese brand, is doing the same with its C5 model, imported from Indonesia. For May, the company is offering discounts on the C5 in the form of a fuel cost subsidy for 3-8 years, depending on the specific model. Customers can negotiate with dealerships to have this amount deducted from the car's price.
The promotional offers for Omoda C5 models in May are as follows: (unit: million dong)
| Version | Price | Offer | Post-offer price |
| Luxury | 539 | 70 | 469 |
| SHS-H Premium | 669 | 50 | 619 |
| SHS-H Luxury | 749 | 80 | 669 |
With post-offer prices ranging from 469-669 million dong, the Omoda C5 is now among the lowest-priced vehicles in its segment. Its rivals, such as the Mitsubishi Xforce, are listed at 605-720 million dong but are currently trading at 560-665 million dong, a reduction of 45-55 million dong from the suggested retail price. The Toyota Yaris Cross is priced at dealerships between 617-691 million dong, reflecting a 33-37 million dong decrease from its listed price of 650-728 million dong.
Beyond the C5, the standard version of the J7 from Jaecoo, a brand sharing the same distributor as Omoda (Geleximco), also features a significant promotion. The J7 is currently priced at 699 million dong, which is 100 million dong lower than its suggested retail price.

The substantial price reduction for the Jaecoo J7 comes as leading competitors in the C-segment CUV market continuously offer promotions or establish new floor prices. For instance, the Mazda CX-5 introduced a more affordable version at 699 million dong from late April. The Ford Territory saw its retail price reduced by 21-23 million dong, bringing it to 739-875 million dong starting in April, not including additional dealer incentives.
Omoda and Jaecoo, both brands under the Chinese Chery Group, do not disclose their sales figures. Their product portfolio in Vietnam remains modest, with Omoda offering only the C5 and Jaecoo the J7. For 2026, the two brands plan to launch six new products and increase their total number of showrooms to 60.
