Omoda O4 set to launch in Southeast Asia, expected in Vietnam by 2027

The B+ segment crossover will debut in Indonesia on 27/7, with potential assembly and sales in Vietnam in 2027.

The Omoda O4 crossover is preparing for its debut in Indonesia, marking its first market in Southeast Asia. This product launch will feature a campaign introducing its artificial intelligence (AI) cockpit. The event is scheduled for 27/7 in Indonesia.

Positioned in the B+ segment, the Omoda O4 targets young customers. It measures 4,420 mm long, 1,860 mm wide, and 1,570 mm high, with a 2,700 mm wheelbase. These dimensions are slightly larger than its sibling, the Jaecoo J5, which measures 4,380 mm long, 1,860 mm wide, and 1,650 mm high, with a 2,620 mm wheelbase.

The O4 features a youthful design with layered X-shaped front lights. A character line extends towards the rear, complementing its inverted lightning bolt-style LED taillights. It rides on 18-inch two-tone wheels and includes a rear spoiler for enhanced aerodynamics.

The O4's interior features a signature O&J design, highlighted by a vertical infotainment touchscreen, similar to the Jaecoo J7. It also includes a supercar-inspired red cover for the start button. Behind the sport-style steering wheel is a 7-inch screen. The cabin offers ample space, particularly in the rear seats with generous legroom.

In international markets, the model offers gasoline, hybrid, and all-electric powertrain options.

A key technological highlight of the Omoda O4 is its artificial intelligence-integrated cockpit system, which optimizes interaction between the driver and the vehicle's smart features. The central control interface combines large digital screens, supporting over-the-air software updates and advanced driving assistance features.

Following its Indonesia launch, the company plans to introduce the O4 in Vietnam. This will be the second model, after the Jaecoo J5, to be assembled at the Geleximco - Chery (Omoda and Jaecoo's parent company) joint venture plant in Hung Yen. The local assembly strategy aims to optimize costs and meet the increasing demand for urban crossovers in the Vietnamese market.

In addition to local assembly, the Omoda O4 is expected to go on sale in Vietnam in 2027, though specific dates have not been disclosed by the company. If launched in Vietnam, the Omoda O4 will compete with models such as: the Toyota Corolla Cross, Peugeot 2008, and BYD Atto 3.
