The Toyota Land Cruiser FJ is positioned as a more compact and affordable alternative to its larger Land Cruiser sibling. It boasts lower production costs and a more accessible price point. The vehicle utilizes the IMV platform, shared with other Toyota models such as the Hilux and Fortuner.
The Land Cruiser FJ features a body-on-frame chassis, with a 2,580 mm wheelbase, slightly surpassing A+ segment CUVs like the Hyundai Venue and Toyota Raize. Measuring 4,575 mm long and 1,855 mm wide, the Land Cruiser FJ approaches the C-segment CUV category, yet offers superior height.
The Toyota model's distinctive boxy design and compact dimensions draw comparisons to the Suzuki Jimny, which is officially available in Vietnam. The Land Cruiser FJ is significantly larger than the Jimny across all measurements, with the Jimny having a 2,250 mm wheelbase.
In Thailand, the Toyota model features a minimalist grille, prominently displaying the Toyota lettering, and an aggressive front bumper. It incorporates muscular wheel arches, thick side cladding, and substantial C-pillars. A spare tire mounts on the horizontally opening tailgate, complemented by C-shaped LED taillight clusters. Both front and rear bumpers are removable.

2,7-liter gasoline engine.
The FJ's interior design draws significant inspiration from the Hilux and Land Cruiser. It features a masculine three-spoke steering wheel, a 7-inch instrument cluster, and a 12,3-inch touchscreen infotainment display. Other amenities include a 6-speaker sound system, dual-zone automatic climate control, and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity. The driver's seat offers power adjustment, while the front passenger seat is manually adjustable.
Powering the Land Cruiser FJ is a 2,7-liter gasoline engine that delivers 163 horsepower and 246 Nm of peak torque. This engine pairs with a 6-speed automatic transmission and 4-wheel drive. Notably, the Land Cruiser FJ utilizes the same 2,7-liter gasoline engine found in the 2.7 gasoline variant of the Toyota Fortuner currently available in Vietnam.
Upon its distribution in Vietnam, the Toyota Land Cruiser FJ will likely appeal to discerning customers who already own vehicles and seek an additional option for leisure, accessory upgrades, and personalization. Consequently, sales targets for this model may not be a primary focus.
