This new body-on-frame platform will underpin a new mid-size pickup truck, expected to launch before 2030, along with other future models. This platform could also support an off-road SUV, potentially resembling the Boulder Concept.

The Boulder Concept showcases Hyundai's future design.
According to Hyundai, the Boulder Concept's angular design provides the SUV with impressive approach, departure, and breakover angles, alongside deep water wading capability. It features 37-inch off-road tires and a spare tire mounted on its rear door. The rear door boasts dual hinges, allowing it to open in both directions, and the rear window is electrically adjustable.
The Boulder's interior design embraces a retro-futuristic aesthetic. It eschews a traditional instrument cluster screen; instead, vital vehicle information projects onto the base of the windshield, akin to a full-width head-up display. The rounded dashboard features four small square screens with physical controls, a departure from the common single large screen, a design choice many enthusiasts hope represents the future of in-car displays.

While the South Korean automaker did not specify the powertrain, US media anticipate the platform will support electric, internal combustion engine, and hybrid options. As this is an early development stage, Hyundai is currently prioritizing the body-on-frame platform's development, with powertrain details expected to be revealed later.
