VinFast to launch luxury sedan and SUV in 2027

Lac Hong will release two models, the 800S and 900S, as VinFast finalizes its three-brand product lineup, encompassing luxury, personal, and service vehicles.

VinFast announced its brand and product portfolio strategy, introducing two luxury Lac Hong models, the 800S and 900S, on 3/3. Under this plan, the Lac Hong brand is positioned in the luxury segment, VF for personal vehicles, and Green for service vehicles.

The Lac Hong brand includes three vehicle lines: the 900 LX (already launched), and the 900S and 800S, which will be available in 2027. The VF lineup comprises models from VF 3 to VF 9, along with the VF MPV 7. Green is developed specifically for transportation and service businesses, featuring models such as the Limo, Herio, Nerio, and Minio.

VinFast positions Lac Hong as its premium brand, drawing inspiration from Vietnamese national heritage. The company states that the 800S model offers a sophisticated style for the driver, while the 900S is more luxurious, designed to cater to rear-seat passengers.

Both new Lac Hong luxury models feature unique identities. The grille consists of straight slats inspired by Vietnamese bamboo. The bird-wing logo symbolizes the Lac bird (a mythical bird in Vietnamese folklore). Exterior and interior designs reflect Vietnamese symbols like Dong Son drum patterns and terraced fields, intertwined with premium materials such as Nappa leather, precious wood, and real gold plating.

Some features revealed for the luxury duo include: zero-gravity seats, automatic opening and closing doors, and an advanced entertainment system. The Lac Hong 900S boasts a private glass partition between the driver and passenger compartments, a starlight headliner, a large projector, and a private workstation. Both models are expected to feature a full active suspension system and can be equipped with three motors, offering a total output of up to 460 kW.

Duong Thi Thu Trang, Deputy General Director of Global Automobile Sales at VinFast, stated that the planning of the three vehicle lines – Lac Hong, VF, and Green – lays the foundation for a new phase of the company's development. She added that the two new Lac Hong models demonstrate VinFast's capabilities in technology mastery, product development, and manufacturing.

Currently, VinFast offers over 15 electric vehicle models, leading domestic market sales for 16 consecutive months. Last year, the Vietnamese automaker achieved a record sales volume of 175,099 vehicles.
