A model helps Masan Consumer maintain cash flow for growth

Masan Consumer (MCH) generates cash flow through four pillars: a profitable brand portfolio, low capital investment needs, working capital management, and the retail supreme model for increased distribution productivity.

In the first six months, the company generated approximately 2,000 billion VND in free cash flow, thanks to the flexible application of these four pillars. Cash generated from business operations also enables MCH to maintain its cash dividend policy for several consecutive years.

According to a company representative, growth and dividends are often difficult goals for many consumer goods companies to achieve simultaneously. Businesses seeking rapid expansion typically retain most profits for investments in factories, product development, inventory, and distribution network expansion. Conversely, a high dividend payout can diminish resources for reinvestment.

From 2023 to 2025, Masan Consumer disbursed approximately 32,000 billion VND in cash dividends, equivalent to about 1,3 billion USD. This places it among the highest-paying companies on the Vietnam stock market, yet it has not slowed its development. In Q2/2026, revenue increased by 14,2%, profit rose by 10,2%, and the gross profit margin improved to 44,6%. This demonstrates the company's ability to maintain operational efficiency despite fluctuating raw material and logistics costs. The company views this as a notable indicator for long-term investors.

Among the pillars, Retail Supreme, which digitizes traditional retail channels, has become a key driver for Masan Consumer to enhance its distribution system's efficiency after a period of quantitative expansion. By combining extensive coverage, a strong brand portfolio, and technology, the company deepens its sales network, optimizing brand presence at each point of sale. The digital platform also supports the sales team in implementing tailored trade programs for individual stores.

The strategy's effectiveness is clear in the business results across various categories and distribution channels. As of 30/6, the system boasted approximately 550,000 active points of sale, with the number of SKUs per point of sale increasing by about 5,8%. Furthermore, approximately 43,000 points of sale were operating across more than 6 categories. Chin-su revenue grew by 27% year-over-year, while the home and personal care (HPC) category saw a 32,5% increase, marking the highest growth in the portfolio. International business expanded by 24%, and modern trade (MT), HORECA, and e-commerce channels grew by 29%, 29,7%, and over 200% respectively year-over-year.

Cash generated from core operations enables Masan Consumer to pursue both growth objectives and its dividend payout policy. While many businesses must choose between retaining profits for reinvestment or prioritizing shareholder returns, Masan Consumer utilizes its operating cash flow to achieve both simultaneously.

Specifically, the company continues to invest in premiumizing its product portfolio, expanding the home and personal care category, accelerating international business, and implementing its Go Global strategy. These development directions aim to expand market scale and add growth momentum for future phases.

In parallel with business expansion, MCH stock was added to the VN30 index in August. This occurred during a period of increasing scale, liquidity, and market interest in MCH shares.

In the first half of this year, the company reported revenue of 15,637 billion VND, a 13,6% increase compared to the first half of 2025. After-tax profit reached 3,249 billion VND, up 11,6% year-over-year. Growth was primarily driven by a 12,5% increase in sales volume, indicating robust underlying consumer demand maintained after MCH completed its distribution system transformation last year.
