Aeon Hai Duong opened on 3/10, marking the group's 10th shopping center in Vietnam. This project's launch aligns with Aeon Group's expansion strategy until 2030, as the Japanese retail group accelerates its move into satellite cities and local urban areas. The initial success, with over 200,000 visitors in just 5 days, highlights the strong market demand for modern retail experiences in the region.
Vietnam is currently a key market for Aeon, projected to receive up to 60% of the group's total investment in Southeast Asia between now and 2030. Increasing its presence in provinces is a strategic move to achieve the goal of tripling revenue by 2030. With a total investment of 1,180 ty dong, Aeon Hai Duong's operation contributes to completing the commercial and service infrastructure for the eastern Hai Phong area, creating approximately 900 jobs for local residents.

Commenting on the investment decision, Tezuka Daisuke, a member of the group's executive board, chief representative of Aeon Group in Vietnam, and general director of Aeon Vietnam, stated: "Local residents often travel to Hanoi on weekends for shopping, yet there is currently no retail facility in the vicinity capable of meeting those modern lifestyle demands." The arrival of Aeon Hai Duong effectively addressed this market gap, as demonstrated by the significant customer turnout.

Beyond expansion, Aeon Vietnam is also boosting cooperation with local suppliers. By increasing the variety of local products within its retail system, the company anticipates directly contributing to regional economic development and fostering indigenous industries. On 8/7, the company collaborated with the Hai Phong Department of Industry and Trade to organize a workshop titled "Aeon Vietnam accompanies and develops with local businesses and business partners." This event was part of a series of programs designed to expand connections with local businesses in areas where the company is preparing to open new centers.

Additionally, the shopping center has greened its campus with 13,000 trees to create a friendly, comfortable shopping environment for customers. Aeon Hai Duong also promotes sustainable consumption solutions and operates as a green building, meeting Lotus & EDGE Advance standards. Sharing future plans, an Aeon representative stated that the group will accelerate the pace of new store openings, develop the Aeon store system, and increase its market penetration in Vietnam. It is anticipated that in Q4, the group will launch 4 new shopping centers and new general merchandise stores & supermarkets, marking the fastest rate of new openings for the group to date in Vietnam.
