CEO Golden Gate: new factory opens doors beyond restaurants

Golden Gate's general director, Dao The Vinh, announced the company's second food production facility will enable expansion into new sectors beyond its core restaurant business.

Golden Gate Group Joint Stock Company inaugurated its Golden Gate Foods Tien Tien factory in Thinh Minh commune, Phu Tho province on 19/9. This 4-hectare facility, representing an investment exceeding 600 billion VND, marks the company's second production site. It will serve as a central kitchen, processing and distributing ingredients to Golden Gate's restaurant chains. Crucially, the factory will also produce instant food products for retail, signaling a strategic shift.

General director Dao The Vinh emphasized the factory's role in the company's growth. "With the new factory, we can venture into other sectors, not just the restaurant business," Vinh stated. The facility is set to quadruple Golden Gate's current operating capacity, equivalent to supplying approximately two thousand restaurants, and paves the way for exporting consumer goods.

Established in 2005, Golden Gate pioneered the chain restaurant model in Vietnam. The company operates over 35 brands and approximately 600 restaurants, including popular names like Manwah, Kichi Kichi, iSushi, Gogi House, and Sumo BBQ.

Golden Gate reported revenue of approximately 7,691 billion VND last year, a 16% increase from 2024, driven primarily by food and beverage sales. Profit after tax more than doubled to 213,8 billion VND, the highest since 2022. For this year, the company targets a 28% revenue growth to 9,814 billion VND, with an ambitious profit after tax goal of 1,202 billion VND, a 65% increase. This would mark a record in its over 20-year history. Separately, leadership estimates profit after tax will exceed 466 billion VND, double the previous year's figure.

A month ago, the State Securities Commission (SSC) revoked Golden Gate's public company status. The company clarified that this change does not impact its business operations, financial stability, shareholder rights, or commitments to stakeholders. General director Dao The Vinh affirmed the company's long-term commitment to the capital market, stating it will pursue an initial public offering (IPO) when market conditions and development plans align.
