In her role as head of global transaction services, Thuy will enhance DBS Vietnam's capabilities in cash management, payments, and trade finance. This will support businesses in optimizing capital management, working capital needs, and cross-border trade.

Abdul Raof Latiff, general director of DBS Vietnam, stated that Vietnam plays a prominent role in regional trade, investment, and supply chains, creating new opportunities for businesses operating in Asia. Thuy's appointment demonstrates DBS's commitment to supporting Vietnamese companies with modern banking solutions, helping them seize growth opportunities in Vietnam and across the region.

"Thuy possesses solid experience to support clients as the demand for cross-border banking services continues to grow," he affirmed.

Lai Minh Thuy brings over 20 years of leadership experience in transaction banking, country management, governance, and working with regulatory bodies. Before joining DBS, she held several senior positions at Citibank Vietnam, including head of financial services product, where she managed liquidity, payments, and trade finance. She also served as head of financial solutions and trade finance, acting general director, and head of legal at Citibank Vietnam.

DBS is a leading financial services group in Asia with a presence in 19 markets. The bank has been named "world's best bank" 9 times by Global Finance, Euromoney, and The Banker. It was also recognized as "world's best digital bank" by Euromoney and "most innovative in digital banking" by The Banker. Additionally, Global Finance has honored DBS as "Asia's safest bank" for 17 consecutive years, from 2009 to 2025.

In 2008, DBS established a representative office in Vietnam and opened its first branch in TP HCM in 2010. Currently, DBS Vietnam offers a full range of corporate banking services, including financing, cash management, trade finance, global financial services, and digital banking solutions.

DBS provides banking services for individual clients, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and large corporations. The unit is committed to building sustainable partnerships with clients, embodying the spirit of "an Asian bank."

Through the DBS Foundation, the bank supports improving the lives and livelihoods of vulnerable groups, creating positive impacts beyond the financial sector. The foundation addresses the essential needs of disadvantaged communities, promotes inclusion by equipping financially underserved individuals with financial and digital skills, and supports innovative social enterprises that bring positive value to the community.
