DNSE operating revenue rises nearly 60% in first half

DNSE securities recorded operating revenue of 453,1 ty VND in Q2 and 848,2 ty VND in the first 6 months, an increase of 56% and nearly 59% respectively year-on-year.

According to the Q2 financial report, DNSE's growth stemmed from most core business segments. Profit from loans and receivables reached 188,6 ty VND, up 50,8%. Profit from held-to-maturity investments hit 95 ty VND, increasing 64,8%. Securities brokerage revenue was 102,5 ty VND, a 38,8% rise. By the end of Q2, outstanding margin loans and advances for sale totaled 6.303 ty VND, a 25% increase year-on-year. Consequently, the company's Q2 pre-tax profit reached 98,9 ty VND, up 8,7%, with after-tax profit at 83 ty VND, an increase of 13,2%.

For the cumulative first 6 months, DNSE's operating revenue reached 848,2 ty VND, marking a 58,9% increase year-on-year. This included securities brokerage revenue of 222,1 ty VND, up 80,8%; profit from loans and receivables at 336,1 ty VND, up 46,9%; and profit from held-to-maturity investments at 193,4 ty VND, a 51% increase.

Alongside business expansion, expenses also rose. Securities brokerage costs increased by 83,7%; financial asset provision costs and borrowing costs for loans grew by 68,2%; and interest expenses surged by 210% year-on-year.

According to the company, the first-half business results were also affected by a decrease in the revaluation difference of financial assets recognized through profit or loss (FVTPL), due to stock market fluctuations. After 6 months, DNSE's pre-tax profit reached 113,1 ty VND, with after-tax profit at 94,3 ty VND.

In parallel with revenue growth, DNSE continued to expand its brokerage market share. According to data from the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX), by the end of Q2, the company ranked 8th in listed stock brokerage market share on the HNX with 2,88%.

In the derivatives securities segment, DNSE maintained its second position in market share with 25,38% in Q2 and 25,47% for the entire first 6 months. DNSE's derivatives market share is currently more than 6 times larger than when it first entered the top 10 in Q1/2024, and it has held a top 2 position for seven consecutive quarters.

DNSE currently serves over 1,7 million customers. Going forward, in addition to expanding market share and boosting individual customer development, the company is focusing on building a technology product ecosystem to enhance investor experience.
