Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation (EVNHCMC) has instructed its units to avoid planned power outages that would disrupt customer supply during Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026. This directive is effective from 0h on 24/12 to 24h on 25/12, and from 0h on 31/12/2025 to 24h on 1/1/2026, except in cases of emergencies or special requests.
Prior to these holidays, EVNHCMC directed its power companies and the Ho Chi Minh City High-Voltage Grid Company to inspect and promptly address any grid defects. Units were also instructed to clear vegetation, ensuring safe power line corridors and a stable electricity supply throughout the festive period.

Subsidiary units have developed detailed plans to ensure power supply for political, cultural, and entertainment events across the city. Drills are conducted in crowded areas. Enhanced staffing, including leadership, operations, and repair teams, will be on duty 24/24 throughout the holidays. Communication systems are maintained for seamless operation, and sufficient materials, backup generators, vehicles, and personnel are prepared for rapid response to any incidents.
In key areas hosting numerous festive activities, power companies have implemented priority power supply plans. Specifically, Saigon Power Company has developed plans to maintain power for 28 special loads and 8 important customers. Temporary loads for entertainment events and conferences during the holidays also have dedicated staffing arrangements, based on the requirements of the organizing committees.

Beyond technical work, EVNHCMC requires power companies to coordinate closely with local authorities, police forces, and neighborhood groups to enhance the security of power infrastructure. Campaigns to prevent and strictly penalize actions such as firing metallic confetti or throwing objects onto power lines are being implemented concurrently. Fire prevention and control in politically, economically, and socially critical areas are also prioritized. EVNHCMC emphasizes collaboration with local authorities to ensure electrical safety in public spaces, residential areas, entertainment venues, and locations hosting Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 celebrations.
Additionally, the power sector advises residents to proactively inspect their home electrical systems and promptly replace faulty equipment. People should turn off electrical appliances when leaving home to ensure safety and minimize the risk of fires during the year-end peak season.
