Garena announces investment arm to support Vietnamese game studios' development

Garena Vietnam has established a venture capital arm, offering funding, expertise, and ecosystem connections to domestic game studios, alongside launching various community development programs.

Garena Vietnam announced the establishment of a venture capital arm. This initiative aims to identify and partner with domestic game studios, expanding the company's commitment to the Vietnamese game industry through investment, incubation, and developer community building.

A company representative stated that this initiative reflects a long-term strategy to foster a new generation of Vietnamese game developers. It supports creative teams in building quality products for domestic users and progressively entering international markets.

Vietnam is a dynamic game market in Southeast Asia, boasting a community of talented programmers, artists, designers, and promising young studios. As the game industry increasingly demands a blend of creativity, technology, operational capability, and market insight, Garena aims to be a strategic partner for these studios. It plans to provide capital, share expertise, and offer the necessary network and resources for sustainable development.

Through its venture capital arm, Garena Vietnam will seek investment opportunities in studios that demonstrate a clear vision, strong product development capabilities, and a focus on creating competitive entertainment experiences for both domestic and international markets. Beyond financial support, the company plans to collaborate with studios in areas such as product direction, publishing, operations, community development, user data analytics, and growth strategy.

Le Minh Tri, Director of Garena Vietnam's Venture Capital, stated that the company highly values the potential of Vietnam's game developer generation. Garena aims to create a launchpad for these teams to access suitable resources, enhance product quality, and expand their development opportunities.

In parallel with its investment activities, Garena Vietnam will implement programs to connect the domestic game studio community. These initiatives include: Game Jams, game studio incubation programs, specialized workshops, community meetups, and networking initiatives between developers, experts, publishers, and ecosystem partners.

Among these, Vietnam Game Jam 2026 is now open for registration. This marks the first time Garena's creative game event is held in Vietnam, following its success in Indonesia, Taiwan, Thailand, and Singapore. Interested individuals and teams can register to participate or find teammates via the program's website and the Vietnam Game Jam fanpage.

Garena will announce further details on investment criteria, incubation programs, and community activity schedules soon. Interested studios, game development teams, or founders can contact investment@garena.vn to explore cooperation opportunities.

Garena is a digital entertainment platform specializing in game publishing, operations, esports, and community building. By launching its venture capital arm, the company expands its role within Vietnam's game ecosystem. It aims to support domestic developers in achieving sustainable growth and accessing broader markets.
