Techcombank partners with Visa to launch international money receipt account

Techcombank, in collaboration with Visa, has launched an international money receipt account on the Techcombank Mobile app, enabling users to receive foreign currency directly within 24 hours, with no receiving fees and fully online account opening.

This new international money receipt account from Techcombank offers a distinct advantage over traditional transfer methods by directly connecting to Visa's payment infrastructure. Customers can open an international money receipt account, monitor transactions, and manage foreign currency entirely online via the Techcombank Mobile app. Funds are credited within 24 hours, and customers incur no receiving fees, ensuring they receive the full foreign currency amount.

The service currently supports four currencies: US dollar (USD), euro (EUR), British pound (GBP), and Canadian dollar (CAD). Transactions originating from the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe, and Canada are processed efficiently through the sender's local payment network. A key benefit for users is the flexibility to hold foreign currency in their accounts and choose the optimal time to convert it to Vietnamese dong (VND) at favorable exchange rates directly within the application, rather than being forced to convert immediately upon receipt.

Techcombank introduced this product amid a strong surge in demand for international money transfers to Vietnam. For many years, Vietnam has consistently ranked among the world's largest recipients of remittances, with tens of billions of USD flowing into the country annually. This growing demand is further fueled by an increasing number of freelancers, remote professionals, content creators, international students, and cross-border e-commerce businesses, all requiring faster, more convenient, and transparent solutions for receiving funds.

Nguyen Anh Tuan, Deputy CEO and Head of Retail Banking at Techcombank, stated that this product marks a significant step in the bank's journey to implement its customer-centric strategy. This initiative drives innovation and contributes to building Techcombank's comprehensive digital financial ecosystem.

"We believe that true innovation lies not just in technology, but in removing experiential barriers to connect customers with global opportunities more easily and seamlessly", Mr. Tuan shared.

A Visa representative highlighted that the expansion of the digital economy is generating a growing need for cross-border payment and money receipt solutions. Visa predicts that seamless cross-border payments will emerge as one of five key trends shaping how Vietnamese consumers spend and travel in 2026.

"We are confident that the synergy between Visa's global network and technological capabilities, combined with Techcombank's modern digital platform, will enable users in Vietnam to access and manage cross-border financial flows more conveniently, transparently, and seamlessly on a digital platform", said Dang Tuyet Dung, Visa Country Manager for Vietnam and Laos.

Vietnam Technological and Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Techcombank) is a large enterprise in Vietnam. Guided by its vision, "Transforming the financial industry, elevating the value of life", Techcombank serves approximately 18 million individual and business customers. It achieves this through a comprehensive ecosystem of financial solutions and a robust digital banking platform. The bank holds high credit ratings from international organizations, including: FiinRatings (AA-), Moody’s (Ba3), S&P (BB), and Fitch (BB-).

Visa (NYSE: V) is an electronic payment technology company that processes payment transactions among consumers, businesses, financial institutions, and government agencies across over 200 countries and territories.
