On the afternoon of 5/2, Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) listed gold bar prices at 174,2 - 177,2 million dong, a decrease of three million dong per tael compared to the end of yesterday. Other brands similarly lowered their gold bar prices.
Plain gold rings experienced a sharper decline. SJC lowered its plain gold ring prices to 172 - 175 million dong, approximately 4,5 million dong less per tael than yesterday. At Mi Hong, plain gold rings traded near 175,2 - 177,2 million dong per tael, while DOJI Gold and Gems Group listed prices at 172,5 - 175,5 million dong.
Domestic gold prices fell in line with international market movements, but the smaller domestic decrease widened the gap to 21,5 million dong per tael. At 2 p.m. Hanoi time, spot gold decreased by over 40 USD per ounce during the session, reaching the 4,920 USD range. Converted at Vietcombank's selling exchange rate (excluding taxes and fees), international gold prices were equivalent to over 155 million dong per tael.

Domestic silver prices also decreased by over 10% by this afternoon compared to the end of yesterday, settling around three million dong per tael, or approximately 81,5 million dong per kg.
Specifically: Phu Quy Gold Investment Joint Stock Company listed silver bar prices at 2,97 - 3,06 million dong, equivalent to 79,5 - 81,9 million dong per tael. Ancarat Precious Metals Joint Stock Company listed three - 3,08 million dong per tael of silver bars, equivalent to 79,7 - 82 million dong per kg. At Sacombank - SBJ, silver bars traded at 3,28 - 3,39 million dong, equivalent to 87,5 - 90,4 million dong per kg.
