J-OneMirae fund and KIS open Korean language class at charity shelter

The Korean language class at Phuc Lam Shelter recently launched, providing children in difficult circumstances with the opportunity to access Korean language and culture.

The Korean language class officially launched on 13/3 at Phuc Lam Charity Shelter in Dong Nai province. The first session saw eight secondary school students participate. This charitable educational initiative aims to introduce the children to a new foreign language and Korean culture, broadening their horizons and fostering a love for learning.

Ngo Ngoc Bich Tram, a bachelor of Korean language education from Van Lang University, leads the project's instruction. With experience teaching Korean to high school students and a passion for charity work, Ms. Tram teaches directly using a curriculum designed for beginners. The class experiences are expected to help these vulnerable children not only acquire a new language but also feel a cultural connection between the two nations.

Phuc Lam Charity Shelter, established in 2008, currently cares for dozens of orphaned, abandoned, or disabled children. The shelter provides them with accommodation, healthcare, and basic education. However, due to limited resources, its operations primarily rely on support from social organizations and volunteer groups. The introduction of this foreign language class is a long-term initiative, empowering the children with confidence and expanding their career options for future social integration.

This project is supported by the J-OneMirae Fund (Korea) in collaboration with KIS Vietnam Securities Joint Stock Company. The J-OneMirae Fund, a non-profit organization established earlier this year, aims to conduct charitable activities for community benefit. The fund focuses on assisting children facing poverty or illness, while also fulfilling its mission to spread Hangeul (the Korean alphabet) globally. Its resources come from contributions by companies within its ecosystem, such as Seoul Credit Rating & Information and Jinwon E&C.

Vietnam was chosen as the starting point for the fund's international projects due to the increasingly strong cooperation between the two countries across many sectors. In this project, KIS Vietnam Securities provides crucial logistical support, from teacher recruitment to proposing teaching plans. The company's involvement demonstrates a commitment to contributing to the local community, integrating educational initiatives into the sustainable development strategies of international entities operating in Vietnam.

According to a representative from the sponsoring organization, the class in Dong Nai is the first step in a series of educational activities the fund plans to implement widely. In the near future, the organization will continue to expand Korean language instruction and cultural exchange programs in other regions. "The project not only creates more learning opportunities for disadvantaged children but also promotes mutual understanding, deepening the friendship and cultural connection between the people of Vietnam and Korea," stated a KIS Vietnam representative.
