Nam Kim exports over 12,000 tons of cold-rolled annealed steel to Brazil

The first shipment of over 12,000 tons of cold-rolled annealed steel from Nam Kim Phu My factory was exported to Brazil, marking a milestone in mastering technology and producing value-added steel.

Brazil is a market with high product quality demands and numerous trade barriers, according to Le Minh Hai, Deputy General Director of Nam Kim Steel Joint Stock Company. He explained that the export of over 12,000 tons of cold-rolled annealed (CR-Annealed) steel is a significant achievement for the Nam Kim Phu My factory, resulting from extensive investment in technology, equipment, human resources, and management systems.

Hai also emphasized that the company not only produces products meeting international standards but also consistently expands its portfolio of value-added steel. This enhances competitiveness and contributes to the sustainable development of the domestic steel industry.

"The successful export of this first CR-Annealed steel batch provides a foundation for Nam Kim to continue conquering demanding markets globally that require high technical specifications," the company's leader added.

According to the company's announcement, CR-Annealed steel undergoes a continuous annealing process to optimize its mechanical properties, formability, and surface quality. The entire production process is controlled by an automated system, measurement equipment, and strict quality management procedures.

The Nam Kim Phu My factory in Phu My Ward, TP HCM, has invested in a synchronized, closed production line. This includes: a pickling line tandem cold mill (PLTCM); a continuous annealing line (CAL); a continuous galvanizing line (CGL); a color coating line (CCL); and an annealing and insulation coating line for electrical steel (ACL).

A company representative stated that this integrated and automated investment allows for continuous control throughout the production chain, from hot-rolled steel to various value-added product lines. This optimizes production efficiency, boosts competitiveness, and aligns with the trend of sustainable green steel development.

Nam Kim currently supplies various steel products: pickled and oiled (PO) steel; cold-rolled full hard (CRFH) steel; cold-rolled annealed (CR-Annealed) steel; hot-dip galvanized (GI) steel; aluminum-zinc alloy coated (GL) steel; and pre-painted galvanized/galvalume (PPGI/PPGL) steel.

The company announced strict control over chemical composition, mechanical properties, thickness accuracy, flatness, surface quality, and workability. This ensures products meet diverse requirements across sectors such as: home appliances, construction materials, steel structures, mechanical engineering, and other high-tech industries.

The enterprise is also actively developing electrical steel/silicon steel to serve the power, motor, and transformer industries, supporting the shift towards green energy.

Launched in 12/2002, Nam Kim Steel Joint Stock Company currently operates 6 factories with a total annual capacity exceeding 2.2 million tons. It exports to 65 countries and territories. The company's products are featured in major projects, including Long Thanh airport, Tan Son Nhat station, and the LG Hai Phong factory.

With a guiding principle of "Quality mindset - Sustainable life," Nam Kim's leadership stated it will continue to invest in technology, develop value-added steel product lines, enhance management capabilities, and expand into international markets. This strategy aims to elevate the position of Vietnam's steel industry in the global supply chain.
