In 2025, the traditional lottery revenue for the 21 Southern lottery companies reached 103% of their plan, marking an increase of over 10.6% compared to 2024. These companies achieved an average ticket sales rate of 98.7%, with 17 units reaching 100%.

Last year, prize payouts totaled nearly 76,200 billion VND, while issuance costs exceeded 26,900 billion VND. The 21 units contributed 51,975 billion VND to the state budget and reported a pre-tax profit of over 20,000 billion VND, representing increases of 12% and 11% respectively compared to the previous year. During the year, the companies allocated nearly 450 billion VND to social welfare activities, including contributions and sponsorships for health and education programs.
At the conference, Nguyen Quoc Chien, Chairman of the Board of Members of Ho Chi Minh City Lottery Company and Chairman of the Southern Lottery Council, stated that to achieve a double-digit growth target in 2026, the Southern Lottery Council proposed to the Ministry of Finance to increase the issuance sales from 140 billion VND to 160 billion VND per draw, effective from 1/4.
Speaking at the conference, Vuong Quoc Nam, Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee, praised the achievements of the Southern lottery companies over the past period.
"A market consumption reaching 6 billion USD annually, yielding over 11% in profit, is a significant achievement," Nam stated. He urged the companies to continue maintaining transparency and clarity in their operations. Additionally, he requested that companies foster strong ties with their agents and provide increased care and support for lottery ticket retailers to ensure their stable livelihoods and development.
