Toyota Vietnam supports tree planting, commits to sustainable development

Toyota Vietnam continues to participate in environmental protection programs to achieve net zero emissions by 2050, affirming its long-term commitment to Vietnam.

Nguyen Thi Thu Huyen, Deputy General Director of Toyota Vietnam, stated that beyond manufacturing oto models, the company aims to create sustainable value for the local market. Accordingly, for over 30 years, the company has focused on improving product and service quality to meet the needs of Vietnamese people, while steadfastly committing to sustainable development.

According to Toyota, environmental protection is a key pillar in its long-term development strategy. On 6/3, the company continued its collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment for the "Tree Planting Festival – Forever Grateful to Uncle Ho" event, providing funding to plant 125 *cho chi* trees at the Hung Temple Special National Historical Relic Site.

This activity adds greenery to the relic site and disseminates the message of nature protection, promoting the tree-planting movement within the community. This marks the 7th consecutive year Toyota has participated in the program, planting thousands of green trees across Vietnam.

Last November, in Phu Tho province, Toyota collaborated with Agriculture and Environment Magazine to launch the "Toyota Joins Hands to Green Schools" 2025 program at Ngoc Thanh B Primary School, Xuan Hoa ward. Under this program, over 280 shade trees were newly planted at 9 primary and secondary schools across three provinces and cities: Phu Tho, Da Nang, and An Giang.

According to the company, after 10 years of implementation, the program has contributed over 9.800 green trees to 104 schools in 28 provinces and cities, receiving high praise from the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and the community. At the launch ceremony, Toyota also handed over a playground, approximately 250 m² in area, to students of Ngoc Thanh B Primary School, as part of the "Second Journey of Tires" 2025 program. The playground equipment, including swings, seesaws, and slides, was all crafted from used oto tires, featuring diverse colors and shapes.

"For a Green Vietnam 2025", previously known as the "One Billion Green Trees for a Green Vietnam" program, launched in Phu Tho province in 10/2025, planted and donated over 400 *sao den* and *giang huong* trees to Phuc Yen and Xuan Hoa wards. This activity contributed to urban greening and improved air quality.

Ms. Huyen stated that each green tree planted symbolizes Toyota’s long-term commitment to Vietnam’s environment. She added, "The company's goal is carbon neutrality by 2050 through a multi-faceted approach, by implementing various emission reduction solutions suited to the infrastructure conditions and needs of each region."

Among these, self-charging hybrid electric technology combined with biofuel is considered a practical option, effectively reducing CO2 emissions in Vietnam. Toyota is also actively implementing long-term environmental protection activities, such as investing in eco-friendly technology at its factories, promoting environmental protection efforts at dealerships, and introducing new vehicle models with advanced technology.

The year 2026 marks 31 years of Toyota’s establishment and development – a journey closely linked to the growth of Vietnam’s oto industry and economy.
