UOB Asset Management Vietnam (UOBAM Vietnam) announced the introduction of its United Flexible Cash Flow Investment Fund (UMMF). This fund is among the first money market funds (MMF) in Vietnam to be implemented following a new legal framework that took effect in February, guided by Circular No. 136/2025/TT-BTC from the Ministry of Finance. The UMMF aims to provide an additional tool for managing idle capital over short periods, complementing existing savings and investment products in the market.
The public offering for UMMF certificates will run from 3/8 to 21/10. UOBAM Vietnam noted that the offering period could conclude earlier as per legal requirements, but not before 20 days. During this initial offering phase, each fund certificate is priced at 10,000 dong. Investors can subscribe through various distribution agents, including: UOBAM Vietnam, Fincorp Joint Stock Company, and Finhay Joint Stock Company.

UOBAM Vietnam highlights that money market funds are widely utilized in regional and global markets for short-term cash flow management. These funds balance capital preservation, liquidity, and income generation. The UMMF Fund is designed with similar objectives, catering to clients who require flexibility in allocating temporary unused funds.
The fund primarily invests in money market instruments and fixed-income assets. It prioritizes investments characterized by high credit quality and strong liquidity. The portfolio's allocation strategy seeks to achieve a balance between optimizing investment returns and ensuring sufficient liquidity to meet investor needs.
According to Thieu Thi Nhat Le, General Director of UOBAM Vietnam, the UMMF Fund was developed to empower businesses, institutional investors, and individual investors with more effective short-term cash flow management. This product also enhances the company's comprehensive investment fund ecosystem, enabling it to address diverse financial objectives and risk appetites.
"As one of the first entities to introduce money market investment fund products in Vietnam, we believe the United Flexible Cash Flow Investment Fund will deliver practical value, assisting businesses, institutional investors, and individuals in managing short-term cash flow more effectively," Ms. Le stated.
Prior to UMMF, UOBAM Vietnam had already developed a range of products tailored to various investment needs. These include the UVEEF equity fund, which focuses on growth opportunities in the stock market; the USIF bond fund, which invests in fixed-income instruments; and the Vietnam Dynamic Income Investment Fund (UVDIF), which adopts a balanced asset allocation strategy.
UVDIF was previously offered to the public by UOBAM Vietnam in 2024, following the receipt of its public offering registration certificate from the State Securities Commission. Managed by UOBAM Vietnam, with Standard Chartered Vietnam Bank serving as the custodian bank, UVDIF is distributed through multiple market entities. The successful implementation of UVDIF has significantly enhanced the company's experience in organizing offerings, managing, and distributing fund certificates to investors.
The UMMF Fund specifically targets the management of short-term idle capital within this broader ecosystem. Beyond its emphasis on safety, liquidity, and stable income, the fund implements a policy of no purchase fees and no sale fees for its certificates, thereby helping investors minimize costs associated with cash flow allocation.
