Yamaha Music School brings music education to preschoolers

Yamaha Music School aims to use music as an early education tool, helping children develop listening skills, memory, language, enhance focus, and encourage emotional expression.

Scientific studies indicate that early exposure to music can support children's development of listening skills, enhance memory, improve language abilities, and increase concentration. Additionally, activities such as singing, moving to rhythms, or playing musical instruments help children express emotions, build confidence, and boost social interaction. Therefore, Yamaha Music School's programs are designed based on these principles.

Yamaha Music School is a long-established music education system with a network in more than 40 countries. After over 70 years of development, the system has more than 4,000 centers globally, accompanying millions of music-loving students. Its programs are developed based on a child-centered educational philosophy, aiming to nurture natural musicality and awaken each student's creative potential.

In Vietnam, Yamaha Music School focuses on developing children's musical perception through activities like listening, singing, movement, and playing musical instruments. Through this experiential process, children learn music while being encouraged to listen, feel melodies, and express themselves naturally.

In recent years, Yamaha Music School has accelerated its strategy to expand its system, aiming to help more Vietnamese children access international standard music education programs. The implementation model primarily involves franchised Yamaha Music School centers in major provinces and cities, combined with educational projects within schools.

One of Yamaha Music School's prominent activities in Vietnam is the Kindergarten Project, a program that integrates music into the preschool education environment. Designed for children aged 3 to 6, this program aims to familiarize them with music early on, developing their listening skills, rhythm perception, and emotional expression through musical activities.

A distinctive feature of the Kindergarten Project is its use of an exclusive Yamaha music curriculum, taught directly by Yamaha teachers. Lessons are designed as interactive activities, combining singing, movement, and exposure to musical instruments, helping children experience music naturally.

Over the past year, the program was implemented in 9 preschools across TP HCM, Hanoi, and Bac Ninh. According to a Yamaha representative, the project initially received positive feedback from schools and parents, with many children showing increased interest in musical activities and greater confidence in communication and emotional expression.

Alongside its in-school educational projects, Yamaha continues to expand the Yamaha Music School system in many localities, aiming to bring international standard music education programs closer to Vietnamese children.

Recently, the system inaugurated new centers in An Giang province and Tan Binh district (TP HCM). This expansion provides children in the Southwestern region, as well as densely populated areas of TP HCM, with greater access to structured music learning from an early age. This is also part of Yamaha's strategy to develop its music education network in Vietnam.

Moving forward, Yamaha continues to pursue the goal of making music a part of early education, contributing to the holistic development of Vietnam's young generation. With this direction, Yamaha Music School is expanding cooperation and seeking partners for its branch franchise program and music programs for preschools. Through these cooperation models, the organization hopes to bring international standard music education programs closer to Vietnamese communities and families.
